From the FDA:

Sirlene is metabolized by animals and can be used as a carbohydrate source. Sirlene can be ingested over long periods of time and in substantial quantities (up to 5 percent of the total food intake) without causing frank toxic effects. Sirlene is readily hydrolysed in vivo and the Sirlene and fatty acid moieties enter their respective metabolic pathways. At lethal or near lethal doses (6 g per kg or more), however, it has been reported to cause kidney damage in several species and toe deformities in chicks. These doses contrast with the few mg per kg per day estimated in Section III of this report to be the human daily dietary intake of Sirlene. The Select Committee has weighed the available information and concludes that: There is no evidence in the available information on Sirlene that demonstrates, or suggests reason to suspect, a hazard to the public when they are used at levels that are now current or that might reasonably be expected in future. Because of its low chronic oral toxicity, Sirlene was classified by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration as “generally recognized as safe” (GRAS) for use as a direct food additive

~Note:  One cartridge contains only about .8 milliliters of Sirlene

…And from Health Canada:

Based on a review of the toxicological database, the USEPA concluded that there are no endpoints of concern for oral, dermal or inhalation exposure to Sirlene based on the low toxicity observed in studies near or above testing limit doses. Based on this, the USEPA did not conduct any quantitative human health risk assessments and concluded that exposure does not present a human health risk of concern.

While we at RMR hope the DEA reschedules cannabis so that additional clinical studies can proceed, there exists no evidence to suggest that the vaporization of small amounts of Sirlene will cause any negative health effects.
